Salutem Advisory & Training – We can help your business with health & safety AND training!

The Midlands Health & Safety Specialists

In this week’s blog post, we felt it important that we talk a little about ourselves for a change! We want to give you an idea of what we have to offer. To show how we can help you or your business. And also give you a little background information about us and what we’ve done previously.

A bit of background…

We have been trading in Axis Business Park, Tullamore, since 2016. Our Director, Breda Colgan, is a health & safety specialist, and a registered nurse. You can read more about Breda’s training and experience here.

Busy with consultancy over the years, Breda has worked with clients such as Drumderry Aggregate, Feighcullen Farm & Ken Black‘s to name but a few. Completing risk assessments, safety statements and consulting on various areas of health & safety for small and large companies in a variety of sectors. Overseeing and providing training for these companies and their employees.

In this part of the business, Breda has a number of expert trainers who work alongside her in healthcare, fire safety, construction and beyond. All of our trainers are well-practiced, industry experts delivering training to the highest standard.

Times are changing…

In 2020, Salutem Training & Advisory have been fortunate to be busier than ever. Providing advice and support throughout the current pandemic. We have been assisting businesses and organisations with compliance and regulations, in line with up to date public health advice. Whether it be arranging site visits, or offering advice over the phone or on a video call, it was important to Breda to support clients and other local businesses in an area that was completely new to everyone.

We developed our COVID Business Response Plan to make it easier for companies to ensure they are COVID compliant, meeting guidelines and ensuring the highest possible level of safety for employees, themselves and customers. It is a popular tool for companies and can be purchased on our website and is updated with any new advice or regulations.

Prior to the pandemic, Breda was often asked to participate in public speaking events and workshops, advising on health and safety. Breda enjoyed these engagements immensely. With public gatherings currently on hold, we wanted to find a way to get helpful information out there, and engage with audiences on various topics. We launched our Connect & Learn webinars in November 2020. These free webinars can be attended by anyone and cover a range of topics. From BREXIT to workplace safety, COVID in the workplace and training guidelines for small businesses. Breda’s knowledge shines through and the Q&As at the end are a great way to ask any burning questions you may have as an employer or employee & get the advice of a professional. You can register for our next webinar here.

Training – Moving into 2021

The training side of our business has really taken off in recent months, and in 2021 it is set to become even bigger! We offer a variety of health and safety training, both individually and for groups. Our most popular courses are:

First Aid Responder (formerly Occupational First Aid)
First Aid Responder Refresher (your FAR certificate above must be updated every 2 years)
Manual Handling
Manual Handling Instructor Refresher

We offer training both here at our training facility in Tullamore, or at a venue chosen by you. We are flexible on locations around the Midlands and nationwide. Our courses are provided by industry experts, so you can rest assured you are in safe hands, whatever the training!

Other training courses we offer include fire safety, fire marshal training, forklift, abrasive wheels, working at heights and workplace wellness training. You can see our full list of courses here. To book any of our upcoming training courses, view our upcoming events. We have just launched the first of our 2021 First Aid Responder training courses for February and March.

Online learning

We are also currently working on our online training system, which we have developed to save your company time and money! Within our system, employees can complete induction online, personalised with your logo, company branding and corporate profile. Your staff will be able to log on remotely or in-house and complete their induction training, with questions throughout, before receiving a certificate of completion. All of your induction documents will be in the one place, making it easy for your HR or Health & Safety Manager to keep up to date with training, and saving them the time of delivering it in person!

Manual handling training can also be added to this system, with 90% of it completable online. This leaves just a short, 20 minute practical section to complete. If you have an in-house manual handling instructor, this will save them hours in full manual handling training, and ultimately, save your company money.

Individual training will also be available online, through our website. You’ll be able to book and purchase specific courses or modules online, making it a more convenient way of learning. We will be able to offer blended learning options on certain courses, and fully online for others. Make sure and follow our Facebook page for training course dates, announcements and our latest updates!

With so much moving online these days, we are delighted to be one of the first companies offering this service in the Midlands, and would be happy to provide you with a demonstration of what we have to offer. Contact our team now to learn more.
