Safe Pass Course

Do you need a Safe Pass? We regularly hold Safe Pass Training courses in Tullamore and Rhode in Offaly, and also in Clondalkin in Dublin.

Our Safe Pass Training Programme is popular for Construction Workers and is an essential one-day training that is required to enter an employee or visitor to any construction site in Ireland. It is intended for employees at all levels. It must be renewed every four years with accreditation under the Solas Safe Pass Programme.

The goal of the Safe Pass Training Course is to continuously improve the standard of Health and Safety awareness in the Construction Industry. It is designed to ensure that all construction staff go through elementary Health and Safety Awareness Training with the intention to prevent accidents and to avoid hazards in the workplace environment.

Typical Safe Pass Content covered is as follows:

  • The Reasons for Promoting Safety
  • Health and Safety at Work Legislation
  • Accident Reporting and Emergency Procedure
  • Accident Prevention
  • Health and Hygiene
  • Manual Handling
  • Working at Heights
  • Working with Electricity, Underground and Overhead Services
  • Use of Hand Held Equipment and Tools
  • Personal Protective Equipment
  • Safe Use of Vehicles
  • Noise and Vibrations
  • Excavations and Confined Spaces

On completion of this programme, all participants will receive a Safe Pass registration card that will indicate that the holder has attended a formal course in health and safety awareness. Safe Pass Registration Card expires every 4 years.

Requirements to attend the course:

An Irish PPS number (for participants residing in Ireland only) / SOLAS-issued Process Number.
One current passport photograph.
Proof of Identification (ID): e.g. drivers licence, passport, public service card
Participants must be 16 years of age or over on the day of the course.
The course is taught in English unless previously arranged (all participants must have a good working knowledge of the English language).
Participants should tell us if they have any special needs when booking the course.
